I'm curious as to the economic state of individuals like me (or a reasonable facsimile that can be found on ITOG).

How's it going?  Have you lost a job and/or concerned about it?  Have you cut back spending/expenses?

What is your outlook?  Is there improvement ahead or are we in for a catastrophic failure?  Near or far?

There is improvement ahead, but it's going to take about a year before we see it. Banks, brokerages, and insurance companies are all going to dig in their heels and try to keep as much money for themselves as they can. But I do think that, eventually, we'll come out of this with a stronger and more equitable economy.

In the meantime, I just want a job!

WOOT! My husband and I both received our 401(k) statements last week. Things are really looking up, as least as far as the stock market is concerned! My 401(k) account earned 18% in just one quarter, and his earned about 15%. In one quarter! With compound interest, mine will almost double in just a year if this keeps up.

I can't tell you how excited I am about this. Go economy! Keep improving!
